In 2024, we officially transitioned from Community Service Council to Oklahoma Veterans United (OKVU). Our organizational focal points are housing services, suicide prevention resources, and employment opportunities for Veterans through key initiatives such as Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), Staff Sergeant Parker Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG FOX SPGP), Veteran Employer Network, Right Face, and more.
In this role, you are primarily responsible to provide program coordination, including overall supervision of SSVF Program Managers and Leads. This includes leadership for developing program procedures, policies, and business plans, and the monitoring of ongoing operations to maintain program integrity, effectiveness, and grant compliance. This position will participate in strategic planning and policy analysis as well as develop relationships and collaborations with other related Oklahoma Veterans United (OKVU) sponsored efforts, community agencies, faith-based organizations, Veteran’s Affairs, and Veteran Service Organizations to best advance SSVF success.
What You Will Do:
- Provide overall leadership and management to assigned Leads and Program Managers, along with indirect supervisor of case management staff in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City locations.
- Assist in development and monitor implementation of annual program business plan that includes specific goals, objectives, responsibilities, timetables, and outcome measures.
- Participate in planning, policy analysis, and development and research activities with regard to program requirements.
- Maintain program policies and procedures in compliance with SSVF regulations.
- Participate in developing and monitoring system-wide approaches to providing housing for veterans, includes collaboration with other housing programs and community agencies.
- Provide leadership for ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness.
- Maintain accountability of staff, and ensuring all assigned staff are creating high quality, inclusive, and respectful experiences for all.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional work related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in education, social/human services, and/or business; or an equivalent combination of work related experience and education
- Proven management and leadership experience
- Effective verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills
- Skillful with conflict resolution/mediation
- Familiarity with strategic planning and organizational practices
- Understanding of grant applications and related budgeting
- Knowledge of case management best practices
