We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Program Manager to join our team.
About Us: Oklahoma Veterans United is built on an 80 year legacy of bringing our community together to research, plan, coordinate action, and assess progress to address some of Oklahoma’s most critical social service, health, education, and civic challenges. Over the past year, our organization has made strategic decisions to adapt to evolving needs and ensure our continued impact. With a fast and ever-changing landscape of nonprofits and funders, we strategically shifted our focus to solely concentrate on the Veteran community in the state of Oklahoma.
In 2024, we officially transitioned from Community Service Council to Oklahoma Veterans United (OKVU). Our organizational focal points are housing services, suicide prevention resources, and employment opportunities for Veterans through key initiatives such as Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), Staff Sergeant Parker Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG FOX SPGP), Veteran Employer Network, Right Face, and more.
As the SSVF Program Manager, you are primarily responsible for providing program coordination, including overall supervision of SSVF Case Management staff. This includes leadership for developing program procedures, policies, and business plans, and the monitoring of ongoing operations. This position will develop and sustain relationships and collaborations with partner agencies of Oklahoma Veterans United.
What You Will Do:
- Provide direct supervision for SSVF case management staff, and responsible for the day-to-day activities in the Tulsa office.
- Assist in development of and monitor implementation of the annual program business plan.
- Participate in planning, policy analysis, and development and research activities with regard to program requirements.
- Provide ongoing contacts and communications with partner groups to assure effective working relationships necessary for program success.
- Maintain program policies and procedures in compliance with SSVF regulations.
- Provide leadership with grant applications and management of existing grants.
- Participate in developing and monitoring system-wide approaches to providing housing for veterans, including collaborating with partner, and community agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in education, social/human services and/or business; or an equivalent combination of degree and relevant work experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional work-related experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as public speaking experience
- Ability to effectively facilitate staff and small group inter-agency meetings
- Skillful with conflict resolution/mediation
- Familiarity with strategic planning and organizational practices
- Understanding of grant applications and related budgeting
