JOB TITLE: Marina Pro Shop Manager – Seasonal Position
DEPARTMENT: Marina & Accessories
FUNCTIONS:
Manage Waterfront Retail and Merchandise Operations
- Manage the accessory, apparel, gas, and sundries business to maintain an active inventory that is within the financial guidelines established by the Dealer
- Champion Elevated Customer Experience and boating lifestyle
- Promote seasonal staff development
- Support marketing department by creating product and lifestyle content.
- Contribute to dealership profitability
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Report to General Manager
- Supervise personnel-accessories and merch departments
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Customer Satisfaction:
- Develop and execute retail processes to support elevated customer experiences
- Create product and service inventory mix to satisfy customer demands
- Create exciting merchandising of products and services to promote customer loyalty
Maintain a clean, safe, and fun retail atmosphere
Sales:
- Ensure profitability of the Ship’s Store through the sale, marketing, and merchandising of inventory
- Develop competitive retail pricing policies
- Implement programs to increase traffic and sales and enforce concepts that lead to repeat customers
- Recommend revisions in personnel compensation and incentives
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of manufacturer products/programs and communicate to appropriate personnel
- Keep current on market trends and competitive activities and pricing
Marketing:
- Coordinate seasonal staff photo shoots and videography for social media
- Build quality content for social and other marketing purposes
- Assist in management of social media channels
Interdepartmental Relations:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with management and other department heads
Expense Control:
- Manage department expenses effectively including staffing levels
- Maintain inventory control processes to maximize sales but minimize loss and waste
Housekeeping/Safety:
- Initiate housekeeping, safety and security procedures that result in a safe and attractive work environment
- Maintain dealership equipment in effective working condition
- Establish equipment maintenance schedules where necessary
- Advise management of equipment needed for the department
Personnel
- Utilize a personnel management system that incorporates dealership policies on recruiting, hiring, orientation and staffing levels
- Develop, train, and motivate staff
- Promote growth of seasonal staff
- Identify seasonal staffers that are candidates for full-time positions

- Maintain professional attire according to dealership policy
- Be prompt and dependable
- Set the tone for a positive and upbeat work environment
