Job Summary :
The Purchasing Manager serves as the key leader for the public side of our business, the largest and most active unit at Okon Recycling. This is a hands-on role that involves customer interaction, scheduling, supervising yard operations, and managing inventory. We're looking for a self-starter who can multitask, communicate effectively, and quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment. While experience is preferred, it's not required—we’re looking for someone who can grow into a management role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the public-facing yard operations, ensuring efficiency and top-tier customer service.
- Supervise yard staff, including scheduling and task delegation.
- Manage incoming and outgoing material purchases, ensuring accuracy in pricing and transactions.
- Interact directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to build relationships and facilitate smooth transactions.
- Track inventory levels and work closely with dispatch and logistics teams for material flow.
- Learn and utilize company systems / software for tracking purchases, inventory, and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Work hands-on in the yard as needed to understand and improve operations.
