Summary
The Purchasing Specialist oversees the purchasing and inventory of raw materials essential for production, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and cost efficiency. Key responsibilities include ordering materials, confirming deliveries, and handling purchases via credit card. The candidate will also reconcile statements, validate and approve invoices, and address any quality issues through necessary adjustments. Ensuring an accurate inventory to prevent shortages is crucial. Additionally, the candidate will track material analysis, working closely with senior management, and ensuring effective communication to support production requirements.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Order raw materials from vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Verify and receive materials to ensure accuracy and quality of items received.
- Process purchases using company credit cards and balance statements accordingly.
- Confirm, process, and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Check the quality of goods received, addressing and resolving any discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
- Maintain and update an accurate inventory of all materials required for production.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply, preventing shortages or production delays.
- Track and manage material analysis, ensuring all data is documented and communicated effectively.
- Work closely with upper management to align purchasing and inventory strategies with company goals.
