Description
The Fitness Supervisor works directly alongside the Fitness Manager and reports to the Spa Director, Fitness Manager and Assistant Spa Director. They assist in the day-to-day operations of the fitness center and the pools. They are involved in all aspects of the facility’s operation, from staff training and schedule to equipment maintenance, programming, and business growth strategizing, including but not limited to hosting events and seminars, leading hikes, and teaching classes to offer members and guests the best possible experience. The Fitness Supervisor must be knowledgeable in general health and fitness tactics.
The Fitness Supervisor should be passionate about fitness and have a willingness to jump in when needed for all tasks, big and small. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both with guests and members, along with the ability to coach and develop a strong and confident team of all ages and demographics.
Responsibilities
- Operate the POS system - ensure all sales are processed in a timely manner
- Answer the phone and respond to emails
- Ensure guest amenity items are ordered, and par levels are maintained.
- Create and maintain monthly fitness class calendar, working with instructors to schedule classes and assist when coverage is needed
- Review weekly staff schedule
- Maintain clean facilities, pool decks, fitness center, and storage areas
- Assist Fitness Manager with scheduling & facilitating equipment preventative maintenance
- Train new staff in SOPs and responsibilities
- Hold all fitness and pool staff to OEI standards and expectations.
- Be the go-to person for conflict resolution if the Fitness Manager is unavailable. Coordinate with sales to facilitate group booking, events and offerings
- Work with the Fitness Manager to brainstorm, plan, and facilitate special events.
- This is a full-time position
Qualifications
- 1-3 fitness centric certifications such as: personal training, group class instructor, spin, yoga, boot camp, Pilates Reformer, etc
- Willingness to grow knowledge, offerings and additional certifications
- Prior experience in hospitality preferred
- Must have strong computer skills. POS, Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
