We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team at our veterinary clinic. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their pets.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Assist veterinarians with administrative tasks as needed, including managing medication administration and understanding veterinary terminology.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle billing and payment processing for services rendered.
- Provide basic information on pet care, animal anatomy knowledge, and veterinary critical care when appropriate.
- Assist in animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is a plus.
- Familiarity with medication administration and veterinary critical care practices is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in kennel management is advantageous but not required.
