What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Field Visual Merchandising (East Zone) position at Old Navy?
About the Role
The Field Visual Director (FVD) leads brand visual merchandising strategy and adjusts direction to meet specific zone needs. They lead/develop the zone visual teams to drive consistent visual execution across the portfolio of stores. The RVM is their primary audience as a leader and coach. The FVD acts as a link between HQ and the Field (Upper Field Leadership and Store Teams) to provide support in execution of brand directed visual strategies. They also offer feedback to influence visual processes from inception to completion. The FVD is a part of the Zone Leadership Team(s) and are the principal sponsors of connecting the Art and Science of merchandising to drive profitable sales. Additionally, this role is part of the Old Navy Field Visual Leadership team, and with that leads key brand initiatives.
What You'll Do
• Build extraordinary talent in developing merchandising capabilities in the RVMs
• Strategize with Field/HQ Visual Leadership team and Zone Leadership teams to build plans that drive profitable sales through merchandising within the zone(s), and create feedback loop to ensure objectives are being met
• Marry art and science to land customer-centric decisions to drive profitable sales and improve visual execution
• Provide weekly, monthly seasonal feedback/solutions to drive profitable sales and improve visual execution throughout zones and brand
• Build and identify talent for the Field Visual team in zones and globally
• Partner with Zone VP to identify developmental opportunities relating to visual merchandising skills throughout the zone, with a heightened focus on the RD DM population
• Partner with zone leadership teams to ensure brand and visual merchandising strategies and pillars are consistently upheld and delivered on
• Drive efficient, productive and quality performance as a sponsor of Divisional teams, by focusing on the right work at the right time to further drive development of merchandising capabilities for the brand
• Work cross functionally with field Finance, Store Planning, Inventory Management to support product needs for stores
• Lead or partner on Key Brand Strategy as member of the Field Visual Leadership Team
• Proxy for Senior Director of Field Visual as needed
• Additional project work or other duties as assigned
Who You Are

• Minimum of 10 year’s multi-unit, high volume, complex retail business with demonstrated career pathing progression
• 10 years of visual presentation experience, with focus on training
• Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business inclusive of overnight travel as required, up to 60%
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Confident presentation and digital literacy, with command of: Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, One Drive
