The commercial escrow assistant at Old Republic Title is critical team member in our work. The person selected for the position will process and be responsible for pre-closing matters on each file; makes sure tax certificates and surveys are on file; orders payoffs; makes sure any authorization documents are in file; verifies legal descriptions with commitments and surveys; receipts funds for closing, disburses funds, records documents, prepares title policies, and puts file in audit order. In this position, you will deal with commercial loan processing, affordable housing transactions, construction loans and conversions.
Position's Pay Range
$35.00 to $48.00 per hour.
This position may be eligible to earn commissions based on applicable incentive compensation or commission plan(s). Specifics pertaining to the calculation and payment of those commissions will be reflected in individual commission or incentive plan documents.

Job Description

In this position, you will deal with commercial loan processing, affordable housing transactions, construction loans and conversions.
- This position requires daily in-office attendance in our Roseville, CA location. Remote and hybrid applicants will not be considered.
- This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in the escrow industry.
- Verify tax certificates are complete and accurate.
- Verifies legal description matches the description in commitment and on survey.
- Obtains payoffs and any invoices that will appear on settlement statement.
- Assists closer in preparing settlement statement.
- Requests permission from lender for authorization to fund; receipts in monies; balances file; disburses funds; and sends out payoffs
- File all documents to be recorded in appropriate counties and/or state.
- Prepares pro-forma policy and final policy and sends to appropriate parties.
- Places file in audit order and prepares file for scanning.
- Regular consistent attendance is required and could include after hour Company events
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Accurate typing and computer proficiency required.
- Minimum one year experience as an escrow assistant.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with aptitude for performing mathematical and accounting functions.
- Must have a professional demeanor and appearance.
- Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
- Ability to maintain a courteous, business-like composure in both the office and social/marketing situations.
- Must be able to work approved and requested overtime, by supervisor.
