Ole's Big Game Steakhouse is a world-famous, full service restaurant that was established in Paxton almost 100 years ago- just one minute after midnight on the day that prohibition ended in Nebraska. Once known as a rough & tough tavern for "real men", Ole's is now a fun, friendly, family restaurant open 364 days a year where our guests enjoy the unique experience of dining amongst 200 big game trophies. We begin serving breakfast at 7am in the Cheetah Cafe, lunch & dinner in the main dining area until 10pm, (9pm on sundays) and then have the option to drink a cold beer while playing pool in Swedes Bar until 1am. (We also offer the options of a private Dance/Banquet Hall for special events, Catering Services, and a Luxury Party Bus)
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry. leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and a passion for creating unique experiences for guests.
**Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and serve drinks to customers following standard recipes and procedures, including using a jigger if unable to accurately free pour.
- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations when necessary
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process orders and payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and keep it stocked, be able to identify and address cleanliness issues in other customer areas.
- Maintain superb knowledge of the menu and upsell additional products when appropriate to maximize sales
- Ability to be shift manager, keeping servers on task and ensure that our customers recieve the best experience possible.
- Greet guests and escort them to their table.
- Responsible for accurately taking and handling TOGO orders.
- Pass State gambling requirements to be an authorized KENO worker.
- Earn Responsible Beverage Server Training certification upon completion of a short online state approved training course.
-Handles all shift discounts and voids following procedure and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Preferance of one FULL TIME Bartender with flexible availability- including nights and weekends. (will consider 2 part time bartenders for quality candiates).
- 19 Years old (State Law for handling/serving alcohol)
**Skills:**
- Experience in a restaurant or bar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of state liquor laws and regulations.
- Ability to professionally communicate with servers, kitchen, customers, and managers
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Dependable, honest, and mature, with ability to lead FOH staff.
- Ability to navigate electronics (POS, tablet, apps, stereo, smart tv, etc)
