Preschool Intervention Specialist-Long Term Certified Sub
Olentangy Preschool is looking for an intervention specialist to provide support for a preschool aged classroom. The intervention specialist would be responsible for the instruction of a morning session and afternoon session, with each session running for 2 hours 40 minutes. Each sessions consists of 6-8 students with special needs (IEP services) and 6-8 peer models. The classroom is also staff with a full time intervention aide/preschool assistant. The intervention specialist would do the instructional planning aligned with Ohio’s early learning standards as the general education curriculum and provide specialized designed instruction (SDI) for the students with special needs according to their IEP.
The teaching assignment is to cover a maternity leave that would start approximately April 1 through May 23 with paid work days for progress report, report cards and packing up the classroom.
The working hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The location of this position will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) and must hold or be eligible for valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and be active on Frontline Absence Management as a certified substitute with ESCCO. Essential functions: ensure the safety of students; demonstrate knowledge of subject matter; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program; and, observe ethics of the teaching profession.
Certified substitutes are compensated at a rate of $155/day; $180/day for days 61 in a consecutive work assignment (no benefits).

Once the assessment is started, it must be completed.
