What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Preschool- Educational Service Center/Olentangy Schools position at Olentangy Local School District?
There will be a Supervisor, Preschool position(s) available within Olentangy Schools for the 2025-26 school year. This position is employed through the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Central Ohio, with the position directly supporting the Olentangy Preschool Program. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
The Supervisor, Preschool serves as the district representative for initial evaluations, as well as initial and annual IEP meetings; collaborates with Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities to transition new students and their families to preschool services; evaluates and supervises preschool teachers and assistants from 2-3 preschool locations throughout the district; represents the district to incoming preschool families and stakeholder's who suspect a disability for children ages 3-5;
collaborates with members of the preschool administrative team which consists of 2 additional supervisors and the assistant director; provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of curriculum, assessment and instructional practices throughout Olentangy’s Preschool Program; provides leadership for preschool staff to fulfill the mission and vision of the Olentangy Local School District; and assists the Pupil Services Director and Assistant Directors in working with the Board of Education, administrative team, staff, parents, community groups, and professional organizations.
Qualifications include: a Master's Degree or higher preferred; Ohio Administrative Certificate and/or Administrative Specialist License; administrative experience preferred; and, leadership experience in an area directly related to special education programs. Alternatives to the above qualifications as superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriate.
Required knowledge and skills include: understanding of child development to improve student learning; analyze data and feedback to make improvements to the preschool program; experience teaching and/or coordinating preschool special education services, and, active listening to help build consensus among a variety of stakeholders.
Essential functions include: provide leadership for the preschool program and staff. build coherence across the seven preschool locations and program types, assist in coordinating schedules and assignments of preschool staff; work cooperatively with staff, students, and community to improve the program; and, serve as district representative in special education meetings, complete preschool staff evaluations, partner with local organizations to educate and support needs of preschool-age students through transition periods.
Contract: this position follows the 260-day administrative contract.
