Overview:
- FT/40 hrs. Creates a welcoming and supportive environment for trafficked youth accessing the Drop-In Center. Maintains the safety of the space for participants, co-workers, volunteers, and the community. Engages with the clients to develop health connections. Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and experience with trafficked youth in any capacity. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Starting pay rate of $24 – $24.50 based on a bilingual differential.

Responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming environment in the drop-in that support engagement of at-risk youth.
- Ensure that the facility is well-maintained and adequately staffed.
- Develop one-on-one relationships with clients by providing support, guidance and concrete assistance that focuses on the needs of the client, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Function as a positive role model and advocate for the client in his/her family system and community.
- Identify, access and use resources and relationships to build an on-going support network for the client.
- Provide services in the center, in the schools, and other community locations.
- Provide one-on-one and group interactions with clients, orienting clients toward socially acceptable activities, practicing appropriate behavior, identifying and reinforcing behaviors.
- Assist clients to address their basic needs for safety.
- Accurately document all services provided and all contacts regarding client as directed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree, or 1 year of experience with the target population in a qualifying program.
- Be 21 years or older due to County contract requirements.
- Maintain a valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record of at least 3 years as required by Olive Crest’s insurance carrier.
- Must maintain vehicle insurance throughout course of employment.
- Maintain criminal record clearance.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment
- Ability to intervene during crisis situations with youth up to 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform housekeeping, cooking, and cleaning duties.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
- Must be able to walk on unstable ground and to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, use hands/ feel, climb, balance, and walk frequently.
- Apply reason in problem-solving situations where only limited standardization may exist. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Must have a philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
