Oliver's Woodworking Inc. is a family owned and operated pallet manufacturing company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our finance team. Our team has been manufacturing pallets for over 31 years and has facilities in TN and NC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, along with the ability to provide insightful financial analysis and reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate bookkeeping, invoicing, and financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage payroll processes, including calculations, deductions, and timely disbursement.
- Conduct accrual accounting to ensure that revenues and expenses are recorded in the correct periods.
- Perform financial audits to assess the accuracy of financial statements and internal controls.
- Reconcile balance sheets regularly to maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, and equity.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate record-keeping.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is required.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, auditing, and report writing.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and processes.
- Familiarity with accrual accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to mentor others effectively and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in financial software applications and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
