Currently, we are seeking an  Accounting Manager to join our dedicated accounting team.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager specializing in Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining financial records, providing reports to management and building strong vendor relationships. To succeed in this role, one should have accounts payable processing experience, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and be able to lead teams in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.  This role will collaborate with internal / external clients to deliver exceptional results within specified deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities :

Accounts Payable

  • Manage the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Oversee and manage corporate credit cards
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline the accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and maintain internal controls.
  • Oversee relationships with vendors, including communication about invoice discrepancies, payment terms negotiation, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address issues and improve cross-functional processes related to credit card processing, expense reports, and other accounts payable functions.

Month-End Close, Reporting and Analysis and Compliance

  • Manage the accounts payable team to meet monthly close and billing deadlines
  • Review all work produced by the accounts payable team for accuracy and completeness and provide coaching for corrections as needed.
  • Participate in the month-end close process, reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and support as needed.
  • Leadership and Development

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate with leadership to address team challenges
  • Provide leadership and mentorship, including training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
  • Education / Skills / Experience :

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.  Finance, Business Administration or equivalent work-related experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to accounts payable, including 1099 reporting, sales and use tax, and IRS regulations.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating a team to achieve goals.
  • Advanced proficiency in end-to-end accounting processes
  • Advanced proficiency in effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal relations, critical analysis, problem-solving, and decisive decision-making.
  • Advanced ability in fostering team growth with a strong passion for innovative and continuous improvement
  • Intermediate understanding and skills with MS 360 Office Suite and tools
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill with ERP systems, experience with Deltek preferred.
  • Architecture, Engineering, Design, or Construction industry accounting experience preferred.

    As a firm, we are committed to pay practices that are fair, competitive, and reflect internal pay equity. At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position in Seattle is between $100,000 and $110,000 annually.  Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
