Job Description
CNC Operator Job Summary
Operate and Setup CNC press brake, Punch Press, and Laser Punch to manufacture parts according to a schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate metal-cutting machinery, including CNC punch, laser punch, and press brake.
- Load programs using required software and machine control.
- Program basic parts and geometries using the machine control.
- Select and load tooling for punching or bending.
- Change laser consumables and set up for operation.
- Load materials into machines.
- Remove scrap, cutting dross, and slag to the appropriate bins.
- Effectively communicate issues to the CNC programmer and maintenance team.
- Perform basic operator preventative maintenance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous CNC operator experience and/or metal fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of punching and forming tools used in CNC punching and bending.
- Blueprint reading and mechanical abilities.
- Use measurement tools, including calipers, tape measure, and go-no-go gauges.
- Must be able to drive stand-up reach lift truck and pass PIT certification as needed.
- Experience in Nesting parts in a programmed machine is preferred.
- Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, decimals, and fractions.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance with CNC and computer-based system experience.
- Excellent quality, safety, and attendance record.
- Experience and training in LOTO.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and 20 lbs. overhead.
- Bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching.
