- Job Summary :
- The Overnight Aide serves as a night attendant assigned to a residential living unit. The primary responsibility of this position is to remain awake and alert during the clients sleeping hours, making regular direct observations of the sleeping areas as well as the rest of the unit. This employee is also responsible for waking the clients in the morning and ensuring that the established routine is followed.
- Essential Job Duties :
- 1. Responsible for the direct supervision of the clients during overnight and early a.m. hours2. Teaches clients living skills such as decision making, personal control, interpersonal communication and problem solving, dressing, grooming and eating3. Instructs and monitors to ensure that the overnight and early a.m. routine, structure and habilitative programming is maintained and all related standards are met4. Administers medications and documents such according to agency policy and procedure5. Supervises and assists in transporting clients as required6. Manages a clean and safe work environment7. Assists in the planning and implementation of the treatment plan8. Interacts with students in ways that are therapeutic, respectful and trauma sensitive9. Utilizes preventative and de-escalation techniques that are consistent with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)10. Completes all required paperwork (e.g. : ICNP, BIP, monthly summaries, daily logs etc.)11. Performs any other duties listed on the program specific responsibility checklist assigned by the supervisor
