Description
The Program Specialist 2 will be responsible for supporting the efforts of outreach and recruitment for prospective students and the retention of current students. Promote an all-inclusive welcoming environment in the Multicultural Center. Assist in the development and implementation of new and existing innovative co-curricular programs.
Essential Functions
- Provide customer service to all guests – including answer questions, providing guidance or instructions, or assisting over the phone, in person, and through online platforms.
- Facilitate events to recruit new students to visit and attend events in the Multicultural Center.
- Coordinate and promote events geared toward academic success to support the development and implementation of Student Engagement programs.
- Assist the Director of Student Leadership and Engagement in grant writing and efforts to support BIPOC student programs and initiatives.
- Advocate for BIPOC and historically underrepresented and marginalized students’ needs within the broader campus community by serving on campus committees and supporting affinity clubs.
Qualifications
- High School Education or Equivalent
- Experience working with diverse populations representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Programs and social media platforms.
- 1 year of customer service experience
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
- 3-4 Years of Customer Service Experience and/or 3 years of clerical experience
- Supervisory Experience

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $43,716 - $58,380* annually. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits:
