Shift Differentials
The Centralized Scheduling Representative audits all incoming exam orders, triages telephone calls, requests medical records pertaining to the requested exam, and schedules exams within the Radiology department, which includes scheduling appointments for all Diagnostic Imaging locations and services; providing instructions and information to physicians, patients, OMC internal departments; and ancillary clinics; verifying that the exam being requested is appropriate for the diagnosis code identified; verifying insurance coverage; and working with the internal referral team and with outside providers to obtain authorizations for services.
EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent, medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy preferred.
Experience
Centralized Scheduling Representative I:
Minimum two years of office/reception experience, required preferably in a health care
setting.
Prior work experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding, third-party payers, pre-authorization
Requirements Preferred.
Centralized Scheduling Representative II:
All requirements of the Centralized Scheduling Representative I position.
3 years’ experience as a Centralized Scheduling Representative I with OMC or equivalent
experience as determined by OMC.
