JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position supervises and oversees the technical functions and activities of Sequim laboratory services in accordance with CAP and CLIA accreditation regulations. Responsibilities include working closely with lab technical specialists and management, providing oversight of technical aspects within the Sequim Lab to include but are not limited to lab-specific policies and procedures, overseeing the Sequim Lab Quality Assurance and program, technical quality control, lab proficiency testing (review, assignments, reporting, and follow-up), SEM management, and all technical aspects associated with testing performed in the lab. The Supervisor is responsible for technical lab staffing, onboarding, evaluations, competencies, and payroll, and coordinates with the lab Satellite Services supervisor for development and oversight of Lab Assistants working in lab processing.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biologic science, or medical technology, and 1 year of training and/or experience with high complexity testing
- Associate Degree in chemical, physical, or biologic science, or medical technology, and 2 years of training and/or experience with high complexity testing
- 4 years’ technical experience in a medical laboratory setting required, one of which is in each section being supervised
- 2 years’ direct management experience or equivalent with demonstrated increasing responsibilities and staff development preferred
- Demonstrated experience with personnel evaluations and job descriptions preferred
- Meets CAP General Supervisor requirements for high complexity testing
- Participation in CAP on-site and self-inspections including CAP checklists and applicable Proficiency Testing
- Demonstrated ability to study, understand, adapt, and respond effectively to a constantly changing environment.
- ASCP, AMT, BOR certification or equivalent status
- State Medical Assistant-phlebotomy certification preferred
