Olympic Pharmacy and Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. Primary Focus
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for leading a high-performing pharmacy team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the pharmacy while providing exceptional patient care and service. This role involves staff management, inventory control, regulatory compliance, filling of and verifying prescriptions, and workflow optimization to align with the organization’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing work environment.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to ensure staff development and engagement.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and timely prescription processing.
- Manage inventory, procurement, storage, and expiration date tracking to optimize stock levels.
- Utilize pharmacy automation (e.g., ScriptPro) to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Compound non-sterile prescriptions and dispense medication according to policies and procedures.
- Manage the medication synchronization (Med Sync) program.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by resolving issues, addressing concerns, and maintaining high patient satisfaction.
- Implement quality assurance programs to ensure accurate, safe, and compliant medication dispensing.
- Administer immunizations and provide medication therapy management (MTM) services.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substances monitoring.
- Utilize pharmacy management software for prescription processing, insurance claims, and medication coverage verification.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve pharmacy practices.
Required Qualifications
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BSPharm) from an accredited institution.
- 5 years as a licensed pharmacist in a retail or clinical setting.
- 2 years in a supervisory, lead, or management role within a pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, inventory management, and team leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to process high-volume prescriptions efficiently and accurately.
- Expertise in insurance claims processing and medication coverage verification.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to innovation and process improvement.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software, automation, and office technology.
- Experience with compounding, Med Sync, and pharmacy automation (e.g., ScriptPro) – Highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) services – Highly preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Active Washington State Pharmacist License
- Immunization Certification through an accredited provider (APhA or equivalent)
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
