Olympus Energy LLC (Olympus) is seeking a motivated team member for the position of Measurement Technician for immediate hire in their Pittsburgh area operations. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing gas measurement equipment, to ensure measurement accuracy and operational efficiency. Other responsibilities include performing orifice meter calibrations, gas sample collection, and monthly volume balance review. This position works closely with the Instrumentation & Electrical Specialist and field operations personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintains and troubleshoots the operation of flow computers and measurement equipment.
  • Performs orifice meter calibrations, plate changes, and meter tube inspections.
  • Natural Gas spot sampling collection.
  • Responsible for area compliance in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Assists with new meter installations, preventative maintenance, and field solutions for measurement related problems.
  • Provides support for gas volume discrepancies, including monthly volume balancing reviews.
  • Interact with engineering, construction, and field operations personnel as required.
  • Be available for on-call troubleshooting as necessary.
  • All duties to be performed in accordance with Olympus Energys Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines.

Skills and Experience :

Minimum Requirements :

  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrate computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications.
  • Familiarity with ultrasonic gas flow meters (SICK).
  • Strong working knowledge of natural gas measurement principles.
  • Familiarity with Emerson EFM products and communication protocols (FB107 / ROC800).
  • Must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory analysis results related to gas sampling.
  • General knowledge of oil and gas production operations and midstream processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of low voltage electronics and basic oil and gas principles.
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of 3rd party contractors.
  • Education & Work Experience :

    Minimum Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Preferred :

  • 1 years of oil and gas measurement experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable AGA and API requirements and procedures.
