What You Will Do
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about serving the community to join our Mortgage Lending team. The Mortgage Loan Concierge (Concierge) is the primary contact for our clients during the mortgage application process and is responsible for delivering the highest level of client care. The Concierge ensures a high level of client satisfaction by setting proper expectations, expeditiously managing client communications, maintaining excellent document organization, and resolving client concerns regarding their mortgage application. This role is primarily in-office with some remote work opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the assigned pipeline of Mortgage loans and proactively resolve client questions.
- Complete weekly pipeline reviews to ensure all assigned loans are progressing per schedule and timely identify any issues or problems that need to be escalated.
- Provide status updates, address concerns, questions, issues, and determine specific actions needed to improve overall cycle times and client satisfaction.
- Provide regular loan status updates to the organization’s management as well as feedback on how to improve workflows and processes to deliver improved service to our clients.
- Maintain consistent and timely communication with clients in-person, via phone and electronic communication.
- Meet with and interview potential and current clients to understand their lending needs, including first-time mortgages and refinancing of existing loans.
- Explain the differences between the approval requirements of various types of mortgages.
- Assist clients with the completion of mortgage applications, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Review loan applications, gather credit histories, reports, and requisite verifications, and assess applicants' capacity to repay/default risk.
- Based on predetermined requirements, assess and grant or reject mortgage applications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local realtors, developers, and builders to promote the use of community resources and foster a positive image of the organization.
- Coordinate title, flood, and appraisal orders as well as other closing duties as needed.
- Attend Mortgage Loan Closings and other organizational events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience. Education or Certification beyond High School is desired.
- Loan origination experience.
- Excellent communication and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

The following will increase your potential for hire:
- Associates degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and mortgage-related experience.
- Experience with exceeding goals and contributing to a team.
- Experience with handling higher volumes of loans.
- Previous experience in a non-profit CDFI or lending institution environment.
- Previous loan origination experience.
- Experience utilizing the mortgage underwriting software Encompass.
- Bilingual.
