IT Business Relationship Manager
OPPD is seeking a IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) . This role will play a pivotal role in aligning Technology & Security (TS) strategies with business objectives, helping to ensure that technology initiatives meet the needs of the business. BRMs provide a strategic interface between the Technology & Security (TS) business unit and one or more internal OPPD business partners to align priorities with business capability needs and technology resources. The BRM works to continuously improve TS's solution delivery and to ensure optimization of OPPD's TS investment.
Strategic Alignment
Coordinate interactions between business partners, enterprise architects, and technical owners to drive alignment amongst these key stakeholders related to business needs and technology services
Facilitate creation of technology roadmaps in collaboration with enterprise architects, in partnership with business partners and technical owners, that provide a visual depiction of prioritized and planned technical initiatives, organizational alignment, and awareness of needed resources
Partner with key stakeholders to ensure OPPD is working on the highest value efforts for business partners and customer owners and maximizing the value of TS asset investments and associated capabilities
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with business partners to develop and maintain a deep understanding of their business objectives, functions and processes
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, acting as the primary advocate for assigned business partners in their interactions with TS
Provide excellent customer service to business partners on behalf of TS
Educate business partners to help them be successful consumers of TS services
Demand Management
Assist business partners in preparation of new project requests as part of capital project proposals and large operation and maintenance projects as part of annual planning
Facilitate business partner emerging and unplanned project requests that arise throughout the year, by administering the unplanned work request process and conveying the business need to technical owners
Ensure that business project requests are formally logged and tracked and leveraged to keep the requesting business partner apprised of the project's progress to ensure expectations are understood and aligned
Process Administration
Execute all assigned responsibilities as described in the Application Ownership Framework
Efficiently leverage established demand management process
Identify, develop, implement, facilitate, maintain, and continuously mature the various BRM processes and artifacts
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field; 3-5 years of proven experience as a BRM or a similar role supporting technology project and enhancement demand OR a combination of education and experience that enables the candidate to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels in verbal and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
Demonstrated strategic thinking, conflict management and negotiation skills to effectively mitigate business partner concerns
Competency in basic Microsoft office programs
Desired : Master's degree
Certifications relative to the BRM role
Experience working in a utility
Familiarity with industry specific regulations and compliance standards
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices
Knowledge of business processes including service portfolio management, finance, asset management, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management
Experience working in a mixed Agile / Waterfall environment
