NSB Omega is searching for a Procurement Manager for our Client.
Job Description:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the successful construction and operation of the new plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors and will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all supplies required for the plant’s launch and long-term operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to support the construction and operational needs of the new plant.
- Align procurement activities with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Ensure procurement practices meet company goals for cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.
Supplier Management:- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with key suppliers and vendors for materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers while ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
Procurement Planning & Execution:- Develop detailed procurement plans, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services to meet project milestones and plant operational needs.
- Oversee the procurement of all necessary construction materials, machinery, electrical systems, and other critical assets required for plant operations.
- Manage purchasing orders, track progress, and ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities.
Budget & Cost Control:- Manage procurement budgets, ensuring that purchasing activities stay within financial constraints.
- Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
- Prepare regular procurement reports for senior management, outlining spending, risks, and opportunities for savings.
Contract Management:- Oversee the preparation and execution of contracts with suppliers and service providers, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Work with the legal and finance teams to ensure all contracts are legally sound and align with the company’s financial objectives.
Risk Management & Compliance:- Identify potential risks within the supply chain and procurement processes and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor and address any supply chain disruptions, working proactively to resolve issues and minimize project delays.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, construction, and operations, to understand project needs and align procurement strategies.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure that procurement activities support construction timelines and operational readiness.
- Provide support in troubleshooting supply chain issues and ensuring that project schedules are met without compromise.
Sustainability & Innovation:- Support the company’s sustainability goals by sourcing eco-friendly and energy-efficient materials and solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and implement best practices for sustainable procurement within the battery sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within construction, manufacturing, energy, or the battery sector.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a proven track record of managing suppliers and reducing procurement costs.
- Experience with large-scale, complex procurement projects, particularly in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools (ERP, SAP, etc.).
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, quality control standards, and safety protocols in construction and manufacturing.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and eco-conscious procurement strategies is a plus.
- PMP or other project management certifications are advantageous.
