Omega Accounting Solutions is seeking a California-licensed Attorney to join our team. The Attorney will help in the resolution of debt collection of Omega clients, resolve tax technical issues on behalf of our clients, will make sure Omega is ensuring compliance with various federal and state rules and regulations, and have broad risk management matters for the company. This position will also help with developing internal policies, procedures, and controls. Please note: this position is fully on-site.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Evaluate and pursue debt collection actions against delinquent accounts
- Initiate and manage arbitration proceedings and legal actions to recover debts
- Draft demand letters, negotiate settlements, and litigate collection cases when necessary
- Represent taxpayers in IRS audits, appeals and disputes
- Negotiate with state or local taxing authorities, including the IRS on behalf of clients to resolve disputes or reduce tax liability
- Oversee and spearhead the development and implementation of correction plans for non-compliance situations as well as track the outcomes to ensure effectiveness
- Use your expertise in tax law, policy, and procedures to support the company’s growth
- Draft and file necessary pleadings, motions, legal documents
- Draft responses to IRS inquiries, prepare petitions, and advocate for clients in administrative proceedings
- Utilize exceptional creativity, sound judgement, and compliance expertise to critically analyze situations and suggest business-oriented solutions
- Regularly report key projects, matters, and issues to management
- Complete other duties at the discretion of management

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Active license to practice law in California
- 1-5 years of relevant work experience in collections, arbitration, and/or tax law preferred
- IRS experience or DOJ tax experience is highly desired
- Excellent legal research, writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple case simultaneously and meat deadlines
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word and advanced level skillset in Microsoft Excel, highly preferred

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
