Summary
The IT Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for incoming questions and issues related to computer systems, phone systems, copiers, fax machines, printers, certain software and hardware, as well as cleaning and maintaining computers, troubleshooting, and repairing minor computer problems that arise.

Essential Functions

- Identify and organize support tickets and requests according to priority; communicate with staff about the status of their support tickets and requests
- Route support tickets to IT staff as appropriate and tracks the status of all open incidents and support tickets, reporting progress and status back to the initiator of the incident or support ticket
- Assist with fieldwork and repairs as requested
- On-board new employees, including computer setup and training on how to use computer, phone, and email systems
- Train users on MS Office applications and help troubleshoot problems with those applications on an ongoing basis
- Assist the IT staff as requested
- Other tasks as assigned
- This position functions in Omega’s administrative offices on the Omega campus.
- Physical demands:This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary. Office workers aren't expected to perform heavy lifting regularly, but they may be expected to lift a box of paper or similar item, which weighs approximately 20 pounds.
- This is a full-time position.
- The work schedule will be created with the needs of the business and the needs of the department as the critical factors. Working weekend days instead of weekday days would be a possibility. Hours of work can also be adjusted based on need.

- Two plus years of IT experience
- Experience with PCs and Macs
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Strong aptitude with personal computers, both PC and Mac, Spyware removal, virus protection, system upgrades
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Team player

- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Frequently move items that weigh 30-50 pounds for various needs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions

- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
