Omega Systems Consultants Inc. is seeking to add a Full-Time Accounts Receivable and Credit & Collections Specialist to join our growing team at our HR office in Reading, PA or our Stamford, CT office.

Position Overview: The Accounts Receivable and Credit & Collections Specialist is responsible for executing the organization’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, minimizing bad debt exposure, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role will handle credit policies, evaluate customer creditworthiness, and perform collections activities to support financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Process all aspects of the accounts receivable cycle, tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of customer billing and payment application.
  • Develop and maintain accounts receivable aging reports to monitor outstanding balances and identify at-risk accounts.

Credit Management:

  • Work with CFO to establish credit policies
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and payment history.
  • Establish and enforce credit limits and terms in alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain and update credit policies to reflect organizational goals and market conditions.

Collections Management:

  • Resolve outstanding receivables and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for timely collection of overdue accounts while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve billing disputes.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable metrics, credit risk, and collection performance to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit, and collections.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, credit evaluation techniques, and collections practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Credit and Collections or related areas.
  • Experience in the technology or services industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing credit and collections practices.
