POSITION DESCRIPTION
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.
Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
Prepare reports for external publication.
Duties Specific to Position
Provide Staff Augmentation Technical Support For Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) In The Analysis, Development, Maintenance And Implementation Of Engineering Procedures, Guides And Principles, As Well As Acting As a Resource For Programmatic Inquiries. General Responsibilities Include:

- Revising E7 Manual and Manual 1B Procedure 5.19 Suspect and Counterfeit Item (S/CI) Program
- Updating Engineering guide documents
- Providing technical support to field engineers in application of Engineering procedures and principles
- Mentoring engineers in their technical development on the implementation of Engineering principles
- Performing responsibilities of a Lead Causal Analyst as needed
- Providing other technical support in the area of Engineering Programs as needed
- Attend training to qualify for SME/instructor status on one or more courses
- Review and provide input for course and exam improvements
- Grade course exams and provide feedback to students
- Provide instruction for specified engineering courses to engineers to include but are not limited to:
- Manual E7 Conduct of Engineering
- Manual 1B Procedure 5.19 S/CI Program
