POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is to provide support to the Site Power operations and engineering staff by preparing high voltage electrical and wiring drawings for site power comprised of transmission, substation, and distribution elements up to 138 kV. Support to include routine layouts, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams and all views and dimensions necessary for construction. Supports engineers and designers of all disciplines through a variety of tasks including proposal drawings, red marks, and sketches. Additional support will include locating, updating, and developing new drawings or updating existing drawings to address a backlog in configuration management needs.
- Proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with MicroStation computer aided drafting applications to originate and produce drawings with minimum supervision.
- Read, interpret, and generate design drawings with minimal input from a member of the engineering staff. Must have the ability to walk down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction, generate minor design details, create new drawings, modify existing drawings, and direct junior drafters.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have a minimum of an associate degree in a field related to the position and a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in drafting related to Engineering and Construction.
- Background and experience must include drafting/ designer experience in two or more engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, or civil.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
LOCATION
This position is a local preferred position. The location for this position is at NNSS, Mercury.
