Job Overview
We are seeking a veterinary assistant to join our ophthalmology team of RVT's and our DVM, DACVO. The assistant role will assist with appointments, scheduling of procedures, provide client communications and clinically assist the RVT's and DVM. If you have a passion for ophthalmology, previous experience in an ophthalmology practice and enjoy working with a great team, we are an exciting hospital to grow your skills and knowledge.
Our boarded ophthalmologist has particular interests in surgical interventions for ocular diseases and the management of neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
Omega Veterinary is an independently-owned specialty referral and critical care hospital and is invested in innovative, top level medicine.
Duties
- Assist with appointments and rechecks
- Assist with client education and communication
- Assist with creating and reviewing estimates with clients
- Assist with scheduling procedures for the ophthalmology department
- Assist with patient exams
- Patient handling, providing low stress/fear free patient care
- Assist with treatments and diagnostics
Experience
- Experience in a veterinary ophthalmology practice
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant
- Client service experience preferred

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
