OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Administrator provides administrative support to the HR team. This key position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong time and project management, and a basic understanding of employee relations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of temporary employee time and attendance.
  • Assist talent acquisition by scheduling job interviews, contacting, and screening candidates as needed.
  • Assists with new hire orientation and coordination of training events.
  • Assist with maintaining organized employee files and records, ensuring that necessary paperwork is obtained and filed in a timely manner.
  • Supports applicants and employees with inquiries relative to standard policies, benefits hiring processes, etc.
  • Support special projects (including employee events, benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings).
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, demonstrating a responsiveness to requests and accuracy in completion of all tasks.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in the efficiency of our department and the services we provide.
  • Complete meeting prep tasks which may include purchasing supplies and/or delivering refreshments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to influence people.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to create and follow formatting, and achieve consistency in communication style.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships inside and outside the organization at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute daily tasks to completion.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Willingness to travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.

Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
