The Senior Software Engineering Manager oversees the design, development, and delivery of software systems and applications in a dynamic Agile environment. This role leads a team of software engineers, ensuring the successful execution of technical and program objectives while fostering innovation, collaboration, and adherence to best practices. The Senior Software Engineering Manager acts as a bridge between engineering, program leadership, and stakeholders, driving technical excellence and maintaining a strong focus on quality and timely delivery.
What you will do :
Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
Develop and implement software engineering strategies, plans, and processes aligned with program goals.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions in compliance with technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
Collaborate with program managers, systems engineers, and product owners to define software requirements and priorities.
Ensure engineering teams adhere to Agile methodologies, DevSecOps principles, and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI / CD) best practices.
Drive software architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving efforts.
Monitor and report on team performance, project progress, and technical risks to program leadership.
Manage resource allocation and staffing to meet program needs, identifying skill gaps and training opportunities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging software technologies, tools, and practices to ensure competitive advantage.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages professional growth and high performance.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, security requirements, and company policies.
Represent the software engineering team in program reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Security Clearance : Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret / SCI eligibility is preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience :
Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale software programs in Agile environments.
Strong technical background in software development using languages such as Java, Python, C , or similar.
Experience with DevSecOps principles, CI / CD pipelines, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Skills :
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in software development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent.
Deep understanding of software quality assurance practices and performance optimization techniques.

Proposed Pay Scale : $160,200-$201,800
