About the position:

As the Director of Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our construction projects from inception to completion. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting directly to the VP of Construction and COO, you will lead a team of construction managers, project managers, and other professionals to achieve project goals and objectives.

What you will do:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for construction projects in alignment with company objectives.
• Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in construction processes and procedures.
• Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide leadership and direction to the construction team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Establish and enforce quality standards for construction projects.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Implement corrective actions as necessary to address quality issues.
• Select and manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
• Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and accidents.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members and subcontractors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and other project stakeholders.
• Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues effectively and proactively.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of construction management experience
• Telecommunications industry experience is required.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
