The Mold Technician will be responsible for the disassemble/assemble, preventive maintenance, repair, and cleaning and of plastic injection molds to ensure their longevity and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on injection molds to prevent breakdowns and extend mold life.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble molds to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect molds for wear, damage, or defects and perform necessary repairs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mold issues, including damage to cavities, cores, and slides.
- Polish and refinish mold surfaces as needed to ensure proper part release and high-quality output.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and modifications performed on molds.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure mold specifications are met.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve mold performance and longevity.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Over 5 years of proven experience in Plastic Injection Molding, demonstrating a track record of delivering exceptional quality work.
- Proven experience in mold maintenance, repair, and cleaning within a plastic injection molding environment.
- Strong knowledge of mold components, materials, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with hand tools, machining equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
