What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flex Operator 2nd Shift position at Omni Specialty Packaging, LLC?
Essential Duties:
The Flex Operator performs a variety of work duties across the production floor. This position will be responsible for assisting multiple lines in a variety of tasks. Incumbent will be responsible for changeovers, pigging process, and fluid flushing, as applicable from one product to another. The Flex Operator is subject to learn all the operating units of the respective line, as assigned by Supervision. The ideal candidate will prefer variety in their work, and will serve as a substitute in multiple roles across the production floor in the absence of operators for various production lines.
Responsibilities:
1. Verify the shop order and production packet issued by the shift lead with IFS. Including but not limited to: Calculations of Fill Weights (fluid number, ounces, density) vs. Production Shop Order/Blend Sheet.
2. Assist with the pigging process.
3. Flush the line and filler over to ensure the fluid passes all specs required by the lab, in a timely manner.
4. Verify all raw materials for the production run with the quality proofs issued in the production packet, and that the fluid has passed all specifications by the lab before the production process starts. (Under certain circumstances, i.e. starting up on a run from the previous shift or day, a fluid sample may be permitted after production resumes.
5. Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. No exceptions. (see paperwork requirements)
6. Monitor the line speed during production and notify the shift leader and/or management if the line is running under target speed.
7. Constantly monitor the fill weights and quality of the materials and product during the production run. Filler operator must report any variances in fill weights to the shift lead and/or management.
8. Constantly monitor the and record quality checks on the appropriate paperwork.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
