Job Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the HR department and facilitate key HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and recordkeeping. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment efforts including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks
- Assist with temporary agency in recruiting efforts
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in physical and electronic formats
- Support benefits administration tasks such as enrollments, changes, and open enrollment coordination
- Assist with payroll preparation by verifying employee information and timesheets
- Respond to employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and procedures
- Generate reports, compile HR metrics, and assist with internal and external audits
- Help organize employee engagement activities and HR-sponsored events
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team and assist with special projects as needed
- Supports training coordination, leadership programs, and cross-departmental HR initiatives
- Supports culture-building through events, surveys, and communication
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager to support department and organizational goals
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Handles personal and sensitive employee information with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Takes initiative to improve processes and find efficiencies in workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive employee matters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 2 – 5 years of experience in a Human Resources’ role
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be required for filing or events
- Ability to work in an office environment with standard hours
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
