What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Area Lead position at Omni Specialty Packaging, LLC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly supervise operators within an assigned area, providing performance and developmental coaching and feedback. Ensure operators are working safely and environmentally responsible. Ensure quality compliance within all quality standards and protocols. Drive production efficiency performance by ensuring Area Lead and Operator daily standard work is properly completed and by recommending and implementing continuous improvement changes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct activities of production line employees in assigned area of responsibility (including scheduling, time review, performance management, coaching, and recognition)
- Address any safety concerns from the previous day or other shifts, addresses any quality issues from the previous day or other shifts, and provide the team with performance data for the week
- Lead shift-start meetings to include a review of DMS boards, discussion of challenges and obstacles of the day, and issue resolution
- Follow the Escalation Plans for downtime, lab time, and component delays
- Ensure set-up and completion of the DMS board per documented standard work
- Ensure quick audits are performed for each changeover
- Implement and ensure standard work is followed and sustained (including 5S)
- Work closely with the operators, Supervision, Maintenance, and Management to drive efficiency and remove obstacles/challenges.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma/GED
- Prior leadership responsibility/skills
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Basic Computer knowledge and skills
- Industry experience and/or Lean background or knowledge
Physical Demands
- Exposures encountered, such as loud noise, or extreme heat/cold
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
- Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up to 50 pounds; heavy - over 50 pounds
- Required to work weekends, nights, or be able to work a shift other than regular shift, if necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
