Serving Northwest Chicagoland for over 50 years, OMNI provides meaningful and effective prevention and outreach services across Illinois. We are seeking a dedicated candidate with a passion for public health and strong leadership skills to join OMNI as our Associate Director of Prevention.
YOUR ROLE
As the Associate Director of Prevention, you’ll assist in managing a robust multi-team department focused on promoting public health, prevention services, and community education. This role involves fostering meaningful relationships with your team members as well as organizations and individuals in OMNI’s communities, conceptualizing and planning prevention programming, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing critical grants.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Director with supervision and enhancement of public-health focused programs that improve community health and quality of life
- Assist in the management of a multi-team/multi-program department with knowledge of various programs, objectives and grants
- Foster strategic partnerships with community organizations and schools for program growth and improved impact
- Monitor and assess staff performance, providing consistent feedback with an emphasis on professional development and implementing any necessary changes to improve team performance
- Update leadership regularly on program progress, deliverable timelines, grant goals, and top priorities with status reports
- Identify and write relevant grants (competitive and renewal)
- Assist in developing department budgets, expenditures and monthly forecasts for reporting.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in public health, education, or management preferred with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Experience with project leadership and management that results in program growth and improved community health
- Experience with team leadership/supervisory roles (public health and/or education preferred)
- Experience with grant writing and financial reporting
- Desire to develop, uplift and empower team members through positive, strength-based leadership
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with understanding of cultural competency
- Ability to manage multiple data systems and reports
- Eagerness to learn and continue growing as a professional
