Continuous Improvement Specialist
The job function of a Continuous Improvement Specialist is to consistently improve the overall efficiency and functionality of Omnicell. This includes recognizing problem areas, developing improvement plans, executing those plans, providing assistance for employees and analyzing results. The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for execution and support of the continuous improvement initiatives in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost and the elimination of waste from our processes.

Continuous Improvement Specialist
The job function of a Continuous Improvement Specialist is to consistently improve the overall efficiency and functionality of Omnicell. This includes recognizing problem areas, developing improvement plans, executing those plans, providing assistance for employees and analyzing results. The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for execution and support of the continuous improvement initiatives in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost and the elimination of waste from our processes.
Responsibilities
- Works with Senior Management to develop narrowly focused, clearly defined projects to streamline and improve organizational processes.
- Identify Inefficiencies – Analyze current workflows, processes, and systems to pinpoint constraints/bottlenecks or waste.
- Conducts data collection and analysis to inform and support the improvement of organizational performance.
- Establish & report on metrics using dashboards for monitoring progress, achievements and business results.
- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement – Encourage employee involvement in problem solving and proactive improvement efforts.
- Train & coach employees – Educate teams on Lean principles, problem solving techniques, and operational excellence strategies.
- Works to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions such a logistics.
- Manages annual cost reduction plans in the factory ranging from $1MM - $5MM.
- Leads & supports cost reduction projects to support the annual cost reduction plan.
- Ensures that People, Customer Experience, Operational Excellence & Financial objectives are met for the factory/functional groups.
- Facilitate Gemba walks and wastes walks throughout the factory.
- Drives lean manufacturing activities and project management in strategic focus areas of cost reduction and productivity improvements.
- Defines the case for change (e.g., business case and impact objectives) across value streams.
- Design the approach for individual operational excellence process improvement and Lean capability deployments, including
- building the change team
- defining the deployment charter
- setting impact objectives
- ensuring the capability building and support infrastructure are in place
- delivering the results
- Use data for decision making – collect and analyze performance metrics to track improvements and identify further opportunities.
- Standardize Best Practices – Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent performance.
- Facilitates project charters, identify Business & Customer Y’s, perform effective RASCI’s & estimate savings.

- BS Engineering, Technical area of study or Business
- Minimum 5 years of Continuous Improvement experience
- Green Belt and/or Black Belt Certification
- Experience in Six Sigma Concepts, Problem Solving Methodologies (5 Whys, Ishikawa, 8D, Gap Analysis). General Statistics, Metrics / KPI's.
- ISO 9001 Experience
- CAD experience
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP
- PLM knowledge, preferably Agile
- Experience in Tableau, Minitab
