What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Welding Inspector position at OmniForce Solutions?
Our client serves as West Texas and New Mexico's trusted fabricator for storage tanks, utility poles, and custom solutions built with quality and precision. With decades of experience with energy in the Permian Basin, they can deliver quality solutions quickly and efficiently! They are looking to add an experienced Inspector to their team in the Midland, TX area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assures the quality of all materials, structures, and components of all types of pressure vessels and tanks is maintained throughout the production process.
- Verifies that all vessels, tanks, and other product lines comply with all relevant quality standards and regulations (i.e. ASME and API, etc.)
- Verifies materials, parts, and final products through independent checks and inspections
- Assists in defining a QA/QC program that meets the full scope of all regulatory requirements.
- Maintains and documents all Quality Control inspections and findings on travelers and QC Inspection sheets.
- Assures that all materials received on shop floor and marked with heat number and Smith Identifying number.
- Handles evolving needs promptly with an ability to do heavily task-oriented document processing quickly and efficiently as project timelines are often impacted in a hectic job shop environment.
- Manages work within the electronic document systems, utilizing a PC to maintain a variety of records, entries, and updates of data into electronic databases of varying types.
- Works with Production Supervisors, Safety Manager, and QC inspectors with various administrative duties, data entry, document preparations, etc., as assigned.
- Updates and ensures compliance with material control spreadsheet, provides oversight on compliance and implementation of procedures and policy for all employees.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Preferred - CWI certification
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or construction in the fabrication industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and non-compliance issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection reporting software.
