We are seeking a skilled individual to join our teams as Plastics B Technician who is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting plastic injection-moulding machines. The individual will have specialized knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment. The tasks include dealing with inconsistent material, faulty equipment, human error, and preventing defects from occurring, and monitoring the operation of automated equipment, adjust process conditions, and optimize productivity.

Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
- Experience in Injection Moulding and/or Profile Extrusion preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Solid troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to lift up to 50-70 lbs. safely
- Experience driving forklifts
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Clean all extrusion dies and sizers after each run (or weekly for extended runs)
- Retrieve and load resins and colorants for each production line and ensure material recipes are correct
- Keep necessary materials stocked in the department (resin, colorant, boxes, labels, mesh, etc.)
- Remove completed product from packing areas and store on shelves in warehouse
- Perform simple scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on equipment (weekly changing/cleaning of filters, etc.)
- Relieve packers for breaks as necessary
- Fill in for packers in the case of a call-in
- Housekeeping: work as a team to keep department clean
- Assist A-Tech with hanging tooling in/on injection moulding machine/extruder and setting all operating parameters per the setup sheet
- Assist A-Tech as necessary in setup of all downstream and packaging equipment needed for each product
- Assist A-Tech as necessary in startup of injection and extrusion processes and troubleshoot processing issues to get and maintain in-spec product.
- Assist A-Tech as necessary in troubleshooting of downstream equipment issues
- Assist A-Tech as necessary by using statistical quality control software, enter key process parameters and product dimensions at product startup and at 2-hour intervals to ensure product quality
- Assist packers in grinding and/or disposing of all scrap and purging's in a safe and timely manner
- Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by Leadership
