Omnitek is searching for an experienced Application Engineer as we launch our Sherwood, OR based business.
Our ideal candidate has application engineering experience within relevant industries, and is looking for a role that blends customer engagement, product design and engineering support. Broad experience across engineering disciplines is preferred, as it enables adaptable problem solving and an ability to support our engineering and operations teams.
For the first 6-12 months, this role will be a blend of customer-facing and internal responsibilities as we grow our business. Your primary focus will be collaborating with our Sales Manager on both standard and custom product sales. While our customer demand is increasing, you will also contribute to the engineering and operations teams, supporting the expansion of our manufacturing lines and standard product design work.
Reporting to our Plant Manager, with a dotted line to our Sales Manager, your role will focus on the following areas:
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customer’s technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and support.
- Develop a deep understanding of our products; drive development and modifications of standard products and custom product design requests.
- Develop a deep understanding of customers products, design requirements, and technology roadmaps to ensure Omnitek’s product solutions are aligned.
- Provide conceptual design modeling for customers for new product solutions and iterate on existing core product lines as needed.
- Work closely with the GM and Sales manager to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the market.
- Collaborates effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless alignment between customer requirements, manufacturing feasibility, and performance expectations.
- Work directly on the production floor to troubleshoot issues, develop and optimize workflows, and implement process improvements.
- Represent company at industry events such as trade shows and trainings.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technology advancements relevant to our products.
- Documentation support including equipment qualifications {IQ, OQ, PQ}, process instructions, and test & measurement.
Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience across a mix of product design and application engineering roles.
- Direct customer-facing experience in custom product design environment; preferably with tier-1 and tier 2 suppliers or OEMs.
- Industry experience within high-frequency coaxial cables, data cables, or relevant product lines.
- CAD modeling tool (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) experience.
- Exposure to DFM (Design for Manufacturability) work such as process engineering or lean manufacturing.
- Experience with signal integrity simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, HFSS, CST, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and equipment development is a plus.
- CRM utilization experience and diligence on customer recordkeeping.
- Experience partnering effectively in cross-department project teams.
- Creating technical content and conducting demonstrations for both internal and external audiences.
- Skilled at presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of organizations; including representing company at industry events and customer visits.
- Domestic travel up to 15-25%.

Based in Sherwood, OR facility with flex remote schedule aligned with customer and travel demands.

Salary : $115,000 - $150,000
