Location : Hybrid in Newark - NJ
Duration : 6 months Contract to hire
Job Description :
The Value Stream Management Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to map, analyze, and improve the flow of value across various processes. This role is responsible for applying data-driven approaches to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of value streams, supporting business transformation initiatives, and ensuring continuous improvement in delivering customer value.
Job Responsibilities :
Value Stream Mapping :
Identify and document the current state of value streams across the organization.
Create and maintain value stream maps to visualize workflows, bottlenecks, handoffs, and dependencies.
Analyze and assess current processes, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
Collaborate with business stakeholders to define value stream goals and requirements.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, identify pain points, and assess opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, operations) to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Data Analysis & Reporting :
Collect and analyze data related to value stream performance, such as lead time, cycle time, throughput, and defect rates.
Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive informed decision-making.
Use data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Process Improvement :
Apply Lean, Agile, and Six Sigma methodologies to continuously improve value streams.
Work with teams to remove waste, optimize handoffs, and eliminate bottlenecks in workflows.
Ensure that changes align with business objectives, improving overall efficiency and value delivery.
Agile Frameworks :
Work within Agile frameworks, such as Scrum or SAFe, to support value stream initiatives.
Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to ensure alignment between business goals and Agile teams.
Assist in managing the flow of work across multiple teams, ensuring smooth execution of projects.
Continuous Improvement :
Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement, supporting teams in adopting Agile best practices.
Identify and drive initiatives to enhance team performance, process efficiency, and customer value.
Required Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on process improvement, Lean, or Agile methodologies.
Proven experience working with value stream mapping, Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe), and data analysis.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles or certifications (Green Belt / Black Belt) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, or other value stream management tools.
Knowledge of Agile, Lean, or similar methodologies for process improvement.
Ability to interpret data and identify key insights to drive decision-making.
Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Passion for continuous improvement and optimizing business processes.
Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications :
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or other Agile-related certifications.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification.
