What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Scientist position at On Demand Technical?
As a Data Scientist you will lead data science projects aimed at solving complex business challenges using advanced techniques such as AI, machine learning, causal inference, computer vision, and natural language processing. You will collaborate with business units to design and implement data-driven solutions, develop computational models, and deliver actionable insights through statistical and algorithmic methods. In addition, you will mentor junior colleagues, manage small projects, and contribute to the strategic adoption of AI and data science across the organization.
This role requires proficiency in Python, R, and big data tools, with a strong background in data wrangling, machine learning methods, and business problem-solving. You will work in an agile environment and actively contribute to projects that shape our global product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- 5 years of relevant data science experience.
- Proficiency and 2 years’ experience in Python, R, C , and parallel computing.
- Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and scripting languages (PHP, Perl, Bash).
- Unix environment experience
- Expertise in relevant methods and skills such as data wrangling, EDA, data visualization, prototyping, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, classification methods, regression methods, clustering methods, computer vision methods, time-series analysis, causal inference, NLP.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and various data formats, types of database operations, concepts, architecture, data hygiene / enrichment.
- Knowledge for API usage, web scraping and text processing
- First-hand experience of collaboration in an agile software development team
- 2 years of deep analytical problem solving in business or quantitative analytical research.
- Expertise designing, setting up and executing validation and experimentation of data science outcomes in business environments.
- Experience in project management, driving and delivering data science projects, and ability to engage and communicate effectively with business users and effectively communicating.
- Entrepreneurial and agile mindset / out-of-the-box thinking.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Benefits
Salary : $110,000 - $170,000
