POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing staffing and administrative support to the Wellness Center located at the identified high schools, including supporting the Wellness Team in ensuring the Wellness Center is a safe and welcoming space for all students; greeting and triaging students to identify the need and connect to appropriate school staff; and providing organizational support for Wellness-related services, school events, and partnerships. This position must meet the requirements of The Certified Wellness Coach (CWC), a state-certified profession established by California’s Department of Health Access and Information as part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative. A CWC will operate as part of a school-based care team and will receive support from the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credentialed professional or licensed clinician.

Job Description
- PTO: Year 1 = 3.5 hours, Year 2-3 = 5.5 hours, and Year 3 = 7.5 hours per pay period.
- 16 Paid Holidays

Wellness Center Drop-In Support
- Maintain a consistent presence in the Wellness Center, especially during drop-in hours.
- Manage an orderly flow of students in and out of the Wellness Center; support the Wellness Team in utilizing the call-slip process to manage appointments.
- Meet, greet, and triage all students within the Wellness Center; provide peer-based emotional regulations support, stress management, time management, organization, and problem-solving.
- Identify and refer behavioral health needs of youth to behavioral health providers in school or broader organization setting
- Create and maintain inviting spaces for all students
- Collaborate with the Wellness Center Team to make appropriate referrals of students to members of the Wellness Team
- Oversee coordination of wellness center activities including delivering educational services including wellness promotion and education, Mental health literacy, and basic life skills
- Coordinate school-wide health awareness events in partnership with the school Wellness Team
- Support Wellness Youth Development Programs in partnership with the school Wellness Team and Peer Programs
- Support youth in completing behavioral health screenings
- Provide emotional support and engage in warm handoffs with on-site behavioral health providers for youth who are waiting to be seen for crisis services
- Attend Wellness Center coordination meetings
- Attend MTSS meetings as needed
- Compile and maintain a list of community resources for health, mental health, substance use/abuse, and sexual health services for teens.
- Assist school Wellness Teams with onsite community partners to the school and Wellness Center
- Assist school Wellness Teams in assessing site needs and developing new community partnerships
- Facilitate communication with other professionals providing support and care to youth, including connecting individuals to licensed providers.
- Promote Community-Based Organization (CBO) services to students and families through creative outreach strategies
- Facilitate outreach for the Wellness Center including developing site-specific outreach materials and presentations
- Publicize wellness support/empowerment groups, school-wide health events, and classroom workshop
- Act as Wellness Liaison for Student Clubs
- Assist Wellness Teams with outreach to Back to School Nights, PTSA Meetings, School Site Council, et cetera
- Document students seen and support provided by the Youth Outreach Coordinator
- Participate in Reflection, an organizational practice that supports learning
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, and the public using principles of good customer service
- Greet, communicate, and treat all organizational constituents with respect, dignity, and an attitude of service
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion values and practices
- Clear desire and absolute commitment to adhering to OTM’s principles, practices, and culture
- Additional duties as assigned
- Current certification/willingness to pursue either a Certified Wellness Coach I or Registered-Certified Wellness Coach I certification through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI)
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, multi-task, and oversee day-to-day Wellness Center flow and triage of high school students.
- Willingness to use empathy, reflection, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse populations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, for a variety of audiences (e.g. parents, students, staff, and community partners).
- Demonstrate effective listening skills
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner
- Demonstrates effective collaboration and problem-solving skills when working with other districts and outside agency personnel
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and provide self-directed leadership within the Wellness Center
- Mastery of basic computer skills (word processing, email, internet, database, spreadsheet, student information system)
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and direct a variety of programs and services
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, for a variety of audiences (e.g. parents, students, staff, other agency personnel, and public presentations)
- Mastery of basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, internet, database, spreadsheet, student information system) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide self-directed leadership
- Bilingual: Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English is highly desired
- Associate degree or higher in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Child development, or related fields
