Position Overview:
As a Sales Associate at On The Yard, you will be an integral part of our team, helping customers find the perfect gear to represent their HBCUs and NPHC organizations. You will deliver exceptional customer service, offer product knowledge, and contribute to the overall success of the store by helping to achieve sales goals. We are looking for someone who is passionate about HBCU culture, NPHC organizations, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage with customers, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience.
- Provide detailed product knowledge and help customers choose merchandise that represents their HBCU or NPHC organization.
- Actively promote new arrivals, exclusive items, and special deals to drive sales.
- Assist customers with finding the right sizes, colors, and styles, ensuring their complete satisfaction.
- Maintain a visually appealing store by organizing merchandise and ensuring displays reflect the pride and tradition of HBCU and NPHC cultures.
- Accurately process transactions and handle customer inquiries, returns, and exchanges.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current trends within the HBCU and NPHC communities.
- Assist in inventory management, including restocking products and performing stock checks.
- Follow all store policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
Qualifications:
- Passion for HBCU culture, NPHC organizations, and community involvement.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with customers.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and approachable attitude.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Team-oriented and willing to collaborate.
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
- Basic math skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.

Expected hours: 10 – 22 per week
