Technical Sales Representative – Engineered Materials


Location: Cincinnati, OH

Travel: Regional (30–40%) | OH, KY, IN

About the Opportunity

A well-established distributor of engineered materials is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their high-performing team in the Greater Cincinnati area. This is a relationship-driven sales role where you’ll work closely with engineers, procurement teams, and manufacturing leaders to solve technical problems using a portfolio of advanced adhesive, sealant, and material solutions.


You’ll manage an existing book of business while strategically growing your territory through consultative sales efforts and strong supplier partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical sales, account development, and hands-on product engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers across a defined multi-state region
  • Develop new business and grow existing accounts within OEM, manufacturing, engineering, and design clients
  • Represent a broad portfolio of specialty materials: adhesives, sealants, tapes, thermal materials, and EMI shielding solutions
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical support teams to deliver tailored solutions
  • Own the full sales cycle: discovery, technical consultation, quoting, closing, and follow-up
  • Work with supplier partners to coordinate pricing, samples, product trials, and joint calls
  • Track sales activities and pipeline progress using CRM tools


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical or engineering background a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in B2B sales; experience with adhesives, industrial distribution, or technical products strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory


Compensation

  • Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $90,000 – $130,000 (uncapped commission structure)
  • Company provides mileage reimbursement or car allowance
