Overview
Assists the Nurse Manager or Director in the delivery of Critical Nursing Care.
Responsibilities
- Participate in determining the conditions, resources, and policies essential to the delivery of quality nursing care.
- Communicate with patient family and significant others to help ensure proper care and treatment is provided to patient.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to patient care. Help ensure Nurses and others treating patients follow established procedures.
- Participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- BA/BS in Nursing or related discipline required.
Experience:
- Prior experience as Registered Nurse required.
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of Critical Care Nursing Required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills required.
- Current knowledge of medical terms, ability to calculate medications and administer medications.
- Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position
Licenses, Certifications:
- Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
- CCRN preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day. Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to position and partially lift patients is required.
