What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Support Staff position at One Day Niche?
Duties:
Must be 18 years old
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships
- Create a safe and supportive environment for individuals in their homes or community settings
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document and report on individual progress and any incidents or concerns
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Proficiency in meal preparation and basic housekeeping tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies appropriately
- Understanding of the principles of social work and the importance of advocacy for individuals with disabilities
